With us today is Susan Shane, a licensed acupuncturist and author of the book Vitality Fusion. From her background in dance and her research into world health practices, Susan created Exaircise, a fitness program that can benefit everyone from elite athletes to stressed moms. Welcome Susan. Full BIO: Susan Shane, L.Ac., is creator of Exaircise, a cross-cultural fitness program based on the primacy of breathing in global health traditions. Her book, Vitality Fusion, a Comparative, Interactive Survey of Western, Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicine, illuminates ancient and modern modalities to help readers create a customized path to optimal health. Susan graduated magna cum laude from Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles and has been a California licensed acupuncturist since 1994. She is also a Diplomate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She holds a B.A. in Theater Arts and Dance. Susan has participated as a longstanding member of the Community Advisory Board at the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine in La Jolla, completed post graduate studies in gynecology with Dr. Yitian Ni and has been a wellness lecturer at college campuses and corporations, ranging from UCSD to Qualcomm. She has appeared on the American Entrepreneur segment of the Financial News Network and has been interviewed by New Body, Men's Guide to Fashion and Mature Health magazines. Her professional affiliations include American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and California State Oriental Medical Association. Her past affiliations include the National Sports Association, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America and the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Susan is passionate about teaching people how to be vital and healthy. She lives with her husband, two children, and the family vizsla, Amber, in San Diego, California.
